The short answer is, yes. It's a relatively simple process to add your Mill Creek email account to your iPhone or Android, which we do all the time when issuing company-owned phones and tablets.
There ARE a few things to keep in mind, though:
- If you want to access your company email on your mobile device, you MUST secure your device using a lock code or some form of bio-metric security (fingerprint ID, facial recognition, etc). That way, if your device is lost or stolen, our top secret prices and strategies don't fall into the hands of shifty-eyed unsavories.
- When you install your company email account on your device, you are giving the Mill Creek Lumber IT Department the capability of remotely wiping your account, should we deem it necessary to do so. This is VERY rare, but it is a requirement of how our corporate email system is configured. We do NOT have access to read your text messages or see your pictures or anything else of that nature. All we're allowed to do is remotely erase your company email from your phone, if asked to do so by management.
- Finally, it's generally best to let your manager know that you'd like to access your email from your personal device. For the most part, managers have no problem with this being done, as it allows them to bother you at all manner of inconvenient hours, but it's always good to check first.
