Open Windows Explorer. Microsoft OneDrive SHOULD be installed by default on all Windows PCs. If it is, you will see the OneDrive blue cloud icon, off to the upper left side.
(If, at any point, you run into a problem that is not explained by this article, please contact the IT helpdesk by sending an email to help@millcreeklumber.com, or you can log a case by clicking HERE.)
2. Click on the OneDrive icon, and a sign-in box should pop up.
3. Enter your Mill Creek email address, then click "Sign in".
4. Enter your computer password (this is the same password that you use to log on to your computer each day). Then click "Sign in".
5. An authentication approval will pop up on your screen. Open your Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, and enter the number shown on YOUR screen (not the 71 shown below). The approval pop-up should automatically disappear and advance to the next step.
6. Click "Yes, all apps".
7. The device registration screen should appear and then, after a few moments, advance to the next step.
8. Click "OK". (Many, upon seeing this screen, will stop and assume they have encountered an error. This is not an error, but rather a notification about a Microsoft service that Mill Creek does not utilize.)
9. You are now signed in to Microsoft OneDrive. The following screens allow you to set up (or not set up) a few simple features. Click "Next".
10. We do not utilize OneDrive for local PC backups at this time. Please click each of the three toggles on the right to unselect them.
11. If the box looks like the one shown below, click "Next".
12. This next box is just a brief tutorial about how OneDrive works. If you are interested in learning more, click "Next" through the following boxes. If you desire to skip to the end, feel free to do so.
13. If you intend to utilize the OneDrive app on your iPhone or Android, you can click the "Get the mobile app" button, and you will receive instructions on how to install the app. If not, you can simply click "Later". You can always install the OneDrive app on your phone at a later time.
14. The OneDrive application sign-in and setup is now complete. Click "Open my OneDrive folder".
15. Notice that the OneDrive link on the left has changed from "OneDrive" to "OneDrive - Mil Creek Lumber & Supply". Feel free to open the folder and start saving your personal work files and folders there as you see fit. Our next and final step is to link the Mill Creek Lumber shared storage to your personal OneDrive account.
16. Open the following Mill Creek SharePoint URL in your Internet browser: https://millcreeklumber.sharepoint.com/sites/MillCreekCompanies
If you are not already signed in, you will see another Microsoft login pop-up. Follow the same procedure as earlier to sign in to the SharePoint site.
17. Once you are signed in, you should see the new SharePoint site, as shown below. Click on the "Documents" link on the left side.
18. Expand the "In channels" folder list by clicking the > next to "In channels".
19. Click the link labeled with the company division that you wish to connect to. In this example, we will connect to the Lumber Division OneDrive storage, so click the yellow folder labelled "Lumber." If you are connecting to a different storage group, click the appropriate folder icon.
20. Shown below are the current folders in the MCL Lumber Division OneDrive. This may change over time, just so you know. Click the "Add shortcut to OneDrive" button located on the top menu bar, to the right of the red "New" button. This will link the Mill Creek Lumber division's shared storage to your personal OneDrive account.
21. Notice the yellow folder about 3/4 of the way down called "Lumber - Lumber". (Ignore the other folders, as everyone's setup will look different over time.) Click the "Lumber - Lumber" folder to display the shared folders.
22. You should now see the shared OneDrive folders that are available to you. This view may change over time as the structure of these folders evolves. Additionally, depending on your job position, specific files or folders may not be accessible to you.
23. You're all done!
